The Whitebeavers Editorial Team is an independent group of writers and researchers producing accessible content about American history — from pre-colonial Indigenous societies through the Revolutionary era, the Civil War, the World Wars, and modern American history.

Our work is grounded in primary sources from the Library of Congress, the National Archives, Smithsonian publications, peer-reviewed academic journals (Journal of American History, William and Mary Quarterly, American Historical Review), and reputable historical institutions.

Whitebeavers is an independent publication. We are not affiliated with academic institutions, government agencies, political organizations, or commercial publishers. We do not promote any particular political viewpoint and aim to present American history with attention to multiple perspectives, including those of Indigenous peoples, enslaved Africans and African Americans, immigrants, and women, whose stories were historically underrepresented in traditional narratives.
