Mission
Whitebeavers publishes accessible, accurate content about American history and historical travel. Our editorial process is independent and not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, or commercial partners.
Research Standards
Every article begins with primary and reputable secondary sources, including the Library of Congress, the National Archives, Smithsonian publications, and peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of American History, the William and Mary Quarterly, and the American Historical Review.
Writing Process
- Topic selection based on historical relevance and reader interest.
- Source gathering from primary documents and academic literature.
- Drafting by a member of the Editorial Team.
- Internal review for accuracy, balance, and clarity.
- Copy edit and publication.
Fact-Checking
Claims of historical fact are checked against at least two independent reputable sources. Quotations are verified against original documents whenever possible.
Independence and Disclosure
Whitebeavers is an independent publication. We are not affiliated with academic institutions, government agencies, political organizations, or commercial publishers. Sponsored content, when published, is clearly labeled.
Updates and Revisions
Articles are updated when new scholarship emerges or when readers report corrections. Substantive edits are dated.
